On November 30, 2022, OpenAI releases an Optimized Language Model for Dialogue named ChatGPT. ChatGPT brought mainstream success to conversational AI. “ChatGPT, based on the GPT-3.5 language model, has impressed users with its ability to generate poetry, college essays, code, and save time on various tasks.
What is ChatGPT
ChatGPT is a large language model developed by OpenAI, trained on a dataset of millions of web pages. It uses a transformer architecture and is capable of generating human-like text based on a given prompt or context. ChatGPT to merge with Microsoft Azure OpenAI
Microsoft has recently been in news because of the investment of $1 billion in OpenAI to merge ChatGPT with Azure OpenAI and an extra $2 billion for development and operation. They are planning to invest $10 billion more to level up their AI game with their competitors Google and Apple.
OpenAI posted on their Twitter, where the post says that ChatGPT will be integrated with API and Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI service very soon. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, hold the stirring of Twitter to announce the wide availability of Azure OpenAI Services which is including language models like GPT to extend their AI services to their consumers.
He says, “ChatGPT is coming soon to the Azure OpenAI Service, which is now generally available, as we help customers apply the world’s most advanced AI models to their own business imperatives,”

Microsoft’s Vice President of the AI Platform, Eric Boyd, said “With Azure OpenAI Service now generally available, more businesses can apply for access to the most advanced AI models in the world—including GPT-3.5, Codex, and DALL•E 2—backed by the trusted enterprise-grade capabilities and AI-optimized infrastructure of Microsoft Azure, to create cutting-edge applications.”
Microsoft hasn’t revealed their whole plan yet but according to New York Times, OpenAI is working on the development of GPT-4, a super advance AI where you can create images as well as text in the desirable formats.
Is GPT good or bad?
Every coin has 2 faces and so do ChatGPT. Since its initial release in November 2022, ChatGPT has been in gossip and has been creating a wave of positive and negative reactions.
Positive reactions
The New York Times says, “the best artificial intelligence chatbot ever released to the public.”
The Guardian newspaper says, “impressively detailed” and “human-like” texts and responses.
Vox, American news states, “ChatGPT is the general public’s first hands-on introduction to how powerful modern AI has gotten”. ChatGPT is smart enough to be useful despite its flaws.”
Negative reactions
Economist Paul Krugman stated “ChatGPT would greatly affect the demand for knowledge workers, i.e., workers whose capital is knowledge, such as programmers, engineers, editors, etc”
The Guardian questioned the reliability of ChatGPT and asked whether “content found on the internet “can be truly trusted”
Stack Overflow banned the usage of ChatGPT and called it “factually ambiguous.”
With its high popularity, according to The New York Times, in December 2022, Google expressed an “internal alarm” at the strength of ChatGPT and the potential of large language models to affect the search engine business, and CEO Sundar Pichai reassigned teams within multiple departments to back up its artificial intelligence products.
But even with all of these positive reviews, ChatGPT could not escape the light of criticism and earned a few adverse reactions.
International Conference on Machine Learning banned the usage of ChatGPT after they find out it can be responsible for killing creativity scope.
Limitations of GPT
1.You can’t completely rely on AI
2. It can only curate answers but can’t generate one since it’s not a search engine.
3. Sometimes ChatGPT writeups can be very irrelevant and incorrect
4. ChatGPT sometimes provide biased answers.
