Indian Agencies Shine At Cannes Lions 2023

1. Leo Burnett- Most Awarded Agency At Cannes Lions 2023

Leo Burnett India was the most awarded Indian agency, with the 11 Lions. The agency won a Gold Lion in the Brand Experience and Activation Lions category for its “Airtel 175 Replayed” campaign. The campaign was a unique way to celebrate Airtel’s 175th anniversary, by allowing users to relive their favorite moments from the past 175 years.

Leo Burnett India also won six Silver Lions and four Bronze Lions. Furthermore, some of the other notable campaigns from Leo Burnett India that won awards include “The Biochar Project” for Lay’s, “The Missing Chapter for Whisper, and “Bring Back 2011” for Oreo India.

2. Ogilvy India

Ogilvy India won 2 Lions at Cannes Lions 2023. The first award- the Grand Prix was awarded to the Cadbury Celebrations ‘Shah Rukh Khan – My Ad’ campaign in the Creative Effectiveness category. Not just this, the agency also bagged a Silver in the same category.

3. FCB Group India

FCB Group India won a total of 4 Lions – 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze. The Gold Lion was awarded for ‘Untangling the politics of hair’ for Stir in the Industry Craft — Outdoor category. This campaign raised awareness about the discrimination faced by women with natural hair. One Silver Lion for ‘Chatpat for SOS Children’s Villages’ and another Silver Lion for ‘Tr For Teacher’ for Navneet both in the Entertainment Lions category. ‘Tr For Teacher’ for Navneet also won a Bronze Lion in the Sustainable Development Goals category.

4. Dentsu Creative India

Dentsu Creative India won three Bronze Lions. The 2 Bronze Lions were awarded for the “Suraksha Ka Teeka” campaign for Mortein, which promoted the use of mosquito repellent. And the 3rd Bronze Lion for the “The Everything Book” campaign for Vedantu, which created an interactive learning experience for children.

5. Talented Agency

Talented Agency has won a Silver Lion for Media at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity for their ‘Or Travel on Cleartrip’ campaign. Additionally, Talented Agency also won 2 Bronze Lions for their “Why is this Swiggy Ad?” campaign for Swiggy. One in the PR category, and another in the Social & Influencer category.

6. Mindshare

Mindshare won a Bronze Lion for the “Thumbstopping Beauty Biases” campaign for Dove, which challenged beauty stereotypes.

7. DDB Mundra

DDB Mudra Group won a Bronze Lion for the “Machine Gun Mouth” campaign for Battlegrounds Mobile India, which promoted responsible gaming.
